Although the goal is to get work done, The ASR show is usually filled with hooligans and shananagans. This year did not disapoint. The venue was a bit smaller than in years past due to "the economy". However, 360 inc. (Wave Rebel, V-Duck, voit etc...) had they're usually big booth so that became the hang-out location for the Bodyboard Industry. The new mag was pre-released that day and the response was great. Look for alot of new advertisers in the issues to come. Mike from Sport Chalet was there representing for the Bodyboard Industry and Sport Chalet alike. Manny V. Octavio, Ross McBride, and Bladam showed up as well. It was good times! Paul from Cartel rolled in looking like the singer of a ska band with the tie and all........sweet! There was a mini-mega ramp for skating. Bob Burnquist, Andy McDonald, and Pierre Luc-Gagnon and a bunch of groms were taking their turns hitting that thing. Christian Fletcher and Brian Deegan were a few more of the big names that were cruzin this weekend. Overall it was a great show! Look for us to repeat the mayhem at the September ASR show. Issue #15 will be pre- released at ASR this Friday!
Features include an interview with Micah McMullin, Hurricane Force from the East Coast, Chaos in Cabo, Nic Lugo profile, Road Warriors in South Africa, a 2009 Calendar and tons more. Subscribers, look for yours in the mailbox within a few days and others can pick them up at your favorite retail location soon. Rumor has it Manny Vargas and the crew will be at the Trade Show with boxes of em'!

Some days on the North Shore of Oahu can be very rainy, wet and frankly quite boring when the surf is storm blown, brown water and high winds. Usually this only last for a while and then out comes the sun and a lot of the times the surf pumps. Check out this pic from Clark Little. This is what paradise looks like from inside a brown bowl.

The ASR (Action Sport Retailer) Trade Show is in San Diego ,CA January 22-24th 2009. This is a great opprotunity for retailers to check out all the goods coming for later this year. Alot of top professionals from all the major companies are there to promote themselves and the brands they are affiliated with. It's also a great opprotunity to check out some gorgeous models. Most companies hire these girls to hand out propaganda for their company to drive the retailers to their booth to place orders for the upcoming season(s). It works quite well as a matter of fact. Alot of International retailers make their way to San Diego for this show as well. If you have a new product to promote, wanna keep up on the latest gear, looking for a girl/boy friend, or if you just wanna check out the new mag, the ASR show is the place. Be there!

The long awaited US premiere of Mike Stewart and Scotty Carter's video, FIRE, was shown last night in Seal Beach to a packed house of over 300 SB, LA and OC loke dog bodyboarders. Stewart and Scotty were on hand to answer questions and talk to people. Plus, the star of the night, Ron Zeibell was cruising with his lovely wife, Claudia. Scotty Carter made it a point to donate ALL proceeds to Ron's physical therapy. The night was perfect! Check out some of the pix. Don't forget tonight the same love will go down in Dana Point at the harbor @ 7pm. Please come and support such a great cause!
